I don’t know about you, but I feel like love songs and romance go hand in hand. Since Nashville is known as Music City, what better city to spark up your romance? As I was eating dinner with my boyfriend at The Stillery the other night I thought about just that. There are so many places in Nashville to enjoy with your favorite person. So here are just a few of my suggestions for date ideas in this town.
- Grab a bite off-Broadway: There are two places I would recommend for this– The Stillery or The Southern. The Stillery, located at 113 2nd Ave North is the best place to take your date for a relaxing night as you enjoy exceptionally good cocktails (like the Blueberry Smash, yum) and even better food! I love their Mac n’ cheese with hot fried chicken! The Southern is a little more fancy and is located at 150 3rd Ave South. From omelette brunches and crab cake lunches to fish n’ grits dinners, The Southern is a great place to really impress your date. I mean, come on they have an oyster bar? Real fancy.
- We scream for ice cream: After you enjoy some delicious dinner from either one of these amazing restaurants you can walk over to Mike’s Ice Cream. Mike’s is right next door to the Stillery and a few blocks from the Southern. There you can enjoy some of their amazing, homemade ice cream. Dylan and I shared a scoop of peanut butter chocolate on a chocolate chip cookie cone as we walked around, talked, and explored the city. A couple more of my favorite flavors are loaded butterscotch and blueberry cheesecake. Here is their full menu!
- Picnic at the Parthenon: Standing as the centerpiece in Nashville’s Centennial Park, the Parthenon is a full-scale replica of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece. On a beautiful day when you have a few free hours, you can pack a picnic and enjoy it with your date at the city park. Then you can go inside the Parthenon to see the 42-foot gilded sculpture of Athena, the display of American paintings from the Cowan Collection and all of the history of the Nashville Parthenon dating back to 1897. There is also a wide variety of temporary shows and exhibitions. For more information visit their website.4. Do it all at the Pinewood Social: The Pinewood Social is a really neat place because you can eat and play. What I mean by that, is after you enjoy some good food in the dining area you can bowl in their bowling alley. They also have a pool and an area to play Bocce Ball. Their menu has all kinds of items like pork rinds, salads, sandwiches, ribs, salmon, dips, desserts, cocktails, wine, beer and more. The Pinewood Social is located at 33 Peabody Street. To reserve a bowling lane or check out their menu visit here.5. Picnic and a vineyard: Wait for the perfect sunny day, pack a picnic lunch or dinner and head over to the gorgeous, hillside winery known as Arrington Vineyards. After you sample some wine you can add a bottle of your favorite to your picnic and enjoy it at the outdoor bistro or on the picnic tables surrounding the vineyard. 6. Sunday stroll in Cheekwood: Cheekwood is 55 acres made up of Japanese gardens, a Botanic Hall and library, a historic Mansion and countless other breathtaking gardens, fountains and statues. You can explore the gardens as you enjoy some wonderful art and history. This is also another great place to enjoy a picnic with your lover. Cheekwood is located at 1200 Forrest Park Drive. 7. Fancy entertainment at TPAC: The Tennessee Performing Arts Center is such a great theater and a wonderful place to get all fancied up with your special someone. There are so may amazing show that come to Nashville through TPAC. Sometimes they feature Broadway shows that are absolutely phenomenal. For shows and tickets click here! TPAC is located at 505 Deaderick St, Nashville.
8. Escape reality: The Escape Game is great for a group date. I promise you this date will be unlike any date you have ever had. Just imagine being locked in a room with barely any instructions besides the fact that you should figure out the four digit code to escape the room. You have very little time and are forced to work closely with the people you’re with. There are a couple of Escape rooms in Nashville, one at 510 E Iris Dr and one at 162 3rd Ave N.
I could go on and on about all the places to explore for your perfect date night. However if you’re too busy reading all about ideas how would you have time to go out on a date and experience them yourself? I hope that you give one of my few suggestions out a try and let me know how it goes!
