A Tribute to New Year’s Resolutions

With 2017 being less than a week away, I thought I would post a little something about it.

Resolutions come in many forms. Some people make resolutions that are easily attainable and some people don’t. Regardless, come January 1, we start off determined to follow through on whatever our goals may be. However come mid-February or sometimes even sooner, our goals have vanished. I can’t say much, I don’t even know if I’ve ever made a resolution and tried to go through with it.

A New Year’s resolution is typically a promise you make yourself for the new year. Regardless of whatever resolution you may want to commit to, the whole goal is to improve some part of your life in the upcoming year. I think it’s all about being driven, setting goals and getting a routine to try and achieve them. I hate to be cliche, but I really have a good feeling about the 2017 year. It’s all about believing in yourself.

So I thought I would share mine,

Trust God’s timing more. I am a planner. I plan everything out and if it doesn’t go according to plan, when and how I think it should, I get really stressed out but I have come to realize that I need to just let it go and let God work more in my life. Which brings me to my next point resolution.

Worry less, smile more. I am going to do my best to stop worrying so much this year and let things fall into place because they always do.

Get in shape (for myself). Okay, yes I am making the typical, very unoriginal resolution. If you know me, you know I don’t work out, I couldn’t tell you the first thing about being in shape but I want to start having a healthier life. So why not start now?

My last resolution is to post a little more on my blog and give my reader’s a little more explanation about me and the whole idea behind the blog.

So to start off, why is it called Shelbyallover?

Well, I have always been an avid reader and writer. But, the older I’ve become, the more I discovered my passion. I believe there are so many stories that haven’t been written yet and if they have, they can still be written in so many different ways. That’s the beauty of everyone thinking differently. I love asking questions, researching, digging and getting the facts. I love discovering information and getting to know something or someone new. I love putting words together that I think are easy for people to comprehend.

I’m a very scatterbrained person. I love working on multiple projects at a time, planning, and focusing on multiple ideas. I don’t discriminate against any good story. I write about places I have been, outfits I like, lifestyle ideas, my personal life and family stories, the food I like, I want to start to work on pieces about buying cute and trendy things at a cheap price, anything and everything. I am all over the place, producing articles about anything I like or think people would enjoy reading. So for that, I only felt like Shelbyallover was the most fitting. So I hope you enjoy reading my future posts.

I also hope you make some resolutions that you will enjoy and that will help improve your life.

Happy New Year!
