Since it is the new year I’ve become inspired to post about my new years resolutions. I thought about making a list of goals to accomplish but I decided to skip all of the cliché’s and just go ahead and write what I’m thinking. I’m going to kind of reflect on this past year. This last year was a really great year for me, so I feel pretty positive about 2015. I guess my new years resolution for this year is to take what I already have gained and make it better and become better for myself. I’m going to share a few things that happened this year that were most memorable for me and what I plan to take from them and do better with this year.
So in 2014…
I started out the year of 2014 at News Years Conference, a trip that was very much an alternative of going out and partying to celebrate, instead I worshiped the Lord. I hope this year to find a church away from my home church, that I really enjoy in Cookeville, to grow even stronger in my faith, go on another mission trip, and come home and go to church more often.
This year I gained so many new friendships in girls and guys. I hope to strengthen them and I also hope to gain even more friendships. I want to be a better friend to others and put people before myself more.
My family celebrated a lot of milestones in their lives this year. My brother, Aunt, and I threw a surprise party for my parents 30th anniversary and it was a huge success. My mother and I threw a surprise party for my brother’s 30th birthday. I had times where I deeply missed my family while I was away at school but that’s what made me enjoy and soak up every bit of the time I have with them while I am home. I want to love them and show more love to them in every way that I can.
I started dating Dylan in February 2014 and have watched our relationship face good times and some hard trials but we’ve become stronger in every way. We will be dating for a year next month. My plan this year is to become an even better girlfriend to him. He gives me the world and I don’t know how I will ever repay him but I want to try harder each day to give it to him.
I applied, tried out, and interviewed for many positions at school like organizations and jobs, that I did not receive but something that I have really been trying to focus on is staying positive and remembering that everything happens for a reason. That’s one of the main things I want to focus on this year. Positive attitude 🙂
I finished my first year of college. I can’t say it was easy. College has been the biggest challenge of my life so far. I’m trying to adapt to a new city, learn to be independent and on my own, and not having my parents tell me what I should and shouldn’t be doing. Growing up in school they always said in college they don’t care if you go to class or not, and they don’t. The success of my college career is all up to me. If I want to make good grades I simply have to try. One thing I want to focus on this year is making school my first priority because it hasn’t been how it should in the past. I want to get better grades and a better cumulative GPA. I skipped a few classes a little more than I should have but we know we all do. So one of my new years resolutions is to never skip class. I know I am capable of a lot more in school that I am doing right now, so I want to put all my focus into it and give it the absolute best that I can.
I started this blog this year and I hope to become more involved with it, gain new followers, comment on posts and encourage my followers. I want to start going on adventures and posting about them. I plan to get a new and better camera to take more pictures to share. I want to grow with this blog and make it something really great.
This year was really great for me and I can only hope that 2015 brings more happiness into my life. I want to go on adventures, I want to love people and share more love, I want to grow with Jesus, I want to write,I want to write a lot, I want to take pictures, I want to dress up more, andI want to make the most of every moment. I hope things happen this year that I’m not expecting. I hope to have many challenges. I hope to become something better for myself, for others, and for God.
Happy New Year.
